Jurassic Coast 10k Race Report 2026
A cool, settled morning greeted runners in Budleigh Salterton for the 2026 Jurassic Coast 10k and Children’s 2.5km Run, held in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity.

The day began with a record number of young runners, over 80 children aged from 4 to 14, taking part in the 2.5km fun run. A strong support from families, marshals and volunteers around Race HQ. The childrens event once again set the tone for a friendly, community-focused morning on the coast.

The JC 10k followed at 11am, with runners setting off from the seafront to take on the event’s familiar mix of coastal paths, steep climbs, stony sections and spectacular sea views. Now in its 21st year, the Jurassic Coast Run has raised over £50,000 for the FORCE Cancer charity over the years.

In the 10k, Richard Gayton of Belgrave Harriers took overall victory in 38:59, just ahead of David Parrott, who also finished in 38:59 and won the M40 category. Charlie Biggs completed the overall podium in 40:08, also taking the U21 win.

The women’s race was won in impressive style by Claire Grima of Hercules Wimbledon, who finished 8th overall in 41:19 and also won the F45 category. Claire had come fresh from the London Marathon just last weekend! Chloe Fox of South West Road Runners was second female in 47:40, winning the F35 category, with Emily Broadbelt of West Hull Ladies third female in 48:31.

There were strong performances across the age categories. Chris Stone won M50 in 47:36, Nicholas Lloyd of Chagford Runners won M60 in 48:36, and Lewis Jones of South West Road Runners won M70 in 56:36. At the top end of the age categories, Dennis Burrell of Carn Runners won M80 in 1:15:41, a new Vet 80 PB!

Among the women, Sharon Dixon won F55 in 54:32, Rebecca Jones won FU21 in 56:22, Jenny Ingram of Budleigh Runners won F65 in 1:08:01, and Anita Harrison of Teign Valley won F75 in 1:12:50.

The childrens race also produced some excellent course-record performances across the age groups. Records recognised on the day included Alex Williamson in the MU14 category with 9:20, Charlie Newman in MU13 with 9:32, Albert Enoch in MU8 with 12:17, and Harvey Matthews in MU6 with 13:28. In the girls’ categories, records included Bethany Pearson in F13 with 12:07, Daisy Newman in FU14 with 12:24, and Felicity Schnetler in FU6 with 17:10.

A special mention also goes to Topsham School Running Club, led by Miss White, who were recognised as the largest team taking part, and to the Jurassic Coast “Dinosaur” runners — those who have completed every eligible event and remain a special part of the races history and character.

The event was supported by Peak Physio, based at David Lloyd Exeter, with chip timing provided by City Runs. Thanks also go to Pencarrie for sponsoring the prize T-shirts, Alliance Medical for first aid cover, Chloe from FORCE and al her team, to the many marshals, volunteers, helpers and supporters, Jon from Flappycars for providing the music and announcements througout the morning, Thirsty works for the water, Bike Shed for the water carriers, SW highways for the cones,  Staddons for the van hire, who made the day possible.

With a record children’s field, a strong 10k race, calm conditions and a fantastic community atmosphere, the 2026 Jurassic Coast Run once again delivered a memorable morning of running on one of Devon’s most scenic courses — all in support of a very worthy local charity.
